Our Story
|
|
Founder Mike (Mick) Markou was a car enthusiast at a very young age. At age 6 he could identify the make and model of vehicles at a glance while driving with his family. He detailed his first car at age 10 as a father’s day gift and up kept the family car from that point on. At 16 he started his own detailing service. Mick entered college and received his degree in computer science. His passion for cars grew and his career in computers thrived.

Mick started exploring the idea for an onsite vehicle wash in 2000. He found two major issues with mobile car washes: 1) on average 30 – 40 gallons of water are used to wash one vehicle, 2) you have to call to schedule an appointment and be present to get your vehicle washed making it inconvenient for customers.

After restoring his 1968 GTO and attending car shows, Mick started hearing about waterless car wash products. With water restrictions commonplace in many towns today, he started testing these products. Mick’s idea for Clean My Ride came to fruition as he combined his passion for cars with his computer skills to design CleanMyRide.com.
